ARCH 301 Gaziantep Culinary Centre

This project is culinary centre in Gaziantep. According to building scale, courtyards is occurred in big scale building such as Han. Small scale buildings are detached each other. Also, in Gaziantep there are linear bazars, bedesten. According to this analysis I combine these characteristic features of Gaziantep culture in linear courtyard where there are shops.

According to existing site there are narrow pedestrian street which is connect Hacı Nasır Camii and Fazlıoğlu Street.north side of the site pedestrian and road intersect. My interpretation on the site connect the main two road by alternative street also create the new entrance for Hacı Nası Camii by removing the site.

This site is located between historical and contemporary context as a transition in terms of level differences and type of material. The main strategy is creating alternative street which is connect main two streets.dddd.png

This main strategy are supported by angle of main entrance of building that create sqare where pedestrian and vehicle road intersect and connect the two main road with alternative street that provide people to experience the building visually and physically. according to jury, they said that it was a strong idea to connect two main roads by new street where are restaurant,shops and exhibition area.

According to spatial organization, I organized program according to privacy level. Public spaces that are restaurant,exhibiton area, cafe, management reseption are on ground floor, kitchen labs audotorium are on first floor and accomadation is on second floor.

The sitting areas in the middle divide the street, leading people to shops and restaurants. but jury memeber, green area desing should be improved,it can be covered some parts to protect people from sun.
